The Blazers, who have labeled the game a “must win,” insist they remain confident heading into Game 3, even though they’ve lost the first two meetings by an average of 20.5 points. It doesn’t hurt that they’ve been in this situation before.

Last season, in the first round against the Los Angeles Clippers, the Blazers lost the first two outings by an average of 20.5 points before rallying in Game 3 and eventually winning the series in six games.

But if the Blazers are to duplicate that remarkable run, they likely will have to do so without Jusuf Nurkic. The team’s starting center, who hasn’t played since suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right leg on March 28, is listed as doubtful for Game 3.

The Warriors are also dealing with injuries to key players. All-Star Kevin Durant (left calf), Shaun Livingston (index finger) and Matt Barnes (right foot) are listed as questionable tonight. The trio did not play in Golden State’s 110-81 victory in Game 2.

The Warriors rolled to a 29-point win over the Trail Blazers in Game 2 without Kevin Durant. Draymond Green has terrorized Portland on both ends of the floor through two games. Green is averaging a triple-double while the Trail Blazers’ frontcourt has offered very little.

Portland has now lost all six games against Golden State this season by an average margin of 19.8 points. The health of Jusuf Nurkic remains questionable. Kevin Durant is also a question mark for Game 3 as he recovers from a calf strain in his left leg.

Series: Spurs lead 2-1

After losing Games 1 and 2 by a combined 43 points, Memphis snapped a 10-game postseason losing streak to San Antonio and led by as many as 22 points in a 105-94 win on Thursday.

Aiding in the Game 3 effort was limiting Spurs’ start Kawhi Leonard — who poured in 32 and 37 points in the first two games of the series — to just 18 points Thursday.

Mike Conley finished with 24 points and eight assists. Zach Randolph, making his first start of the postseason, and produced his highest scoring total of teh postseason with 21 points. In the battle of the Gasol brothers, Marc is averaging 21.7 points and 5.7 rebounds on 48.9 percent shooting during the series, while Pau is averaging 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds on 36.4 percent shooting.

Despite what you may have heard about the Golden State Warriors and last year’s Finals, 3-1 series leads are still a good thing, and markedly better than 2-2 ties. Deep down, the Spurs know this and, with the need to make adjustments for the first time, must also muster a sharper performance on both sides of the floor in order to get the job done.

Zach Randolph’s impact upon moving to the starting lineup may have been the catalyst for Memphis, but San Antonio’s defensive issues extended beyond that. Mike Conley encountered little resistance en route to 24 points and eight assists (and was a +20 on the night), and Marc Gasol (21 points) was left wide open multiple times from long range, which is a problem these days.

The Grizzlies came out with the necessary urgency to get the win they needed in Game 3. The ball is now in Pop’s court to make sure San Antonio enters with the same mindset tonight. It should make for a good show.

Wizards vs Hawks Game 3 Live Stream

Series: Wizards lead 2-0

The Wizards turned a four-point deficit after three quarters into an eight-point victory behind a 35-point fourth quarter. Bradley Beal scored 16 of his 31 points in the final frame as Washington shot 67 percent and scored 12 points off six Atlanta turnovers. Wall and Beal combined to score 20 of Washington’s final 21 points in the win. Paul Millsap led the Hawks with 27 points and 10 rebounds, and Dennis Schroder scored 23 points.

Though the first two games of the series have been decided by fewer than 10 points, the Washington Wizards have a commanding 2-0 lead over the division rival Atlanta Hawks in their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals series. Washington won both games at home over Atlanta.

The Wizards came alive late in the fourth quarter of both games to get their first 2-0 playoff series lead in franchise history. Washington took Game 1 114-107 and Game 2 109-101. Atlanta had been able to keep it close with decent play on the glass and with the Hawks’ second unit. However, Washington clearly has the better backcourt and starting five over Atlanta. Game 3 at home on Saturday is a must-win for the Hawks if they want any shot at upsetting the Wizards in this first-round series.

Expect Washington to start the same five in every game the rest of this series because it’s working: John Wall at point guard, Bradley Beal at shooting guard, Otto Porter Jr. at small forward, Markieff Morris at power forward and Marcin Gortat at center.

Wall and Beal have been too hard for Atlanta to handle now in the backcourt. Look for that to continue. If Gortat continues to play as hard as he did in the first two games of this series, Washington can win this best-of-seven in four or five games.

As for Atlanta, what will Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer do with his starting lineup? He’s not much of a tinkerer with his starting five, but Budenholzer has to get better play out on the wing to avoid a first-round sweep.

Dennis Schroder will start at point guard. He hasn’t been terrible, but Wall is infinitely better than him. Paul Millsap and Dwight Howard will start at power forward and center, respectively. Millsap has been great, but Howard has been Gortat’s nail in the low post. He’s getting Polish Hammered senselessly down low.

Now for the Hawks’ wings. Well, it’s not like they’re going to do a lot of flying, but Tim Hardaway Jr. at shooting guard and Taurean Prince at small forward makes the most sense. It’s not like Budenholzer is going to start Kent Bazemore, as he’s been atrocious for most of this series.
